Wandering Duck Canal Boat Trip
This is Wandering Duck’s biggest trip to date. An 8 night adventure from Manchester to Llangollen in Wales.
Highlights include:
Cross the World Famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Hop Aboard as we take Wandering Duck down to the River Weaver on the Anderton Boat Lift
Experience Rural Wales by Canal
Cruise through dark tunnels up to 1km long
Help work the locks and steer the boat

Fenn’s, Whixall & Bettisfield Mosses National Nature Reserve
One of the biggest and best raised bogs in Britain and home to a variety of birdlife.
Chirk Castle
Take a walk from the canal to Wales’ last castle, completed in 1310.
Canoeing*: Head off along the Canal in our canoe.
Course Fishing: Fish for freshwater Roach, Perch, and Crayfish, or try spinning for the more aggressive Pike

Getting there and away:
Start Point: Castlefield Basin, Manchester. M1 2HG@ 10am
Wandering Duck will be moored in Castlefield Basin. Deansgate Train Station is a 5 minute walk away.
Finish Point: Mill Street, Llangollen, Denbighshire LL20 8RY
We finish our trip in Llangollen, a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the town. From here you will be transferred the 40 minute drive by minibus to Chester. Chester is a lovely city in which to spend your Sunday night, or alternatively there are regular trains back to Manchester Piccadilly (approx 1hr 20 minutes).
