On the May bank holiday weekend comes the first three day event the ‘Be Creative’ Bank Holiday Bonanza’ , with the emphasis on making, doing, getting creative and having a go!

Most of the stall holders will be providing an element of demonstration or interactive crafts for both adults and children, so if you would like to try something new then this is your chance to ‘get creative’.

The ‘SCN Gift and Craft Festivals’ are free to enter, so why not come down and soak up the friendly atmosphere and support your local crafters, creatives and small businesses.

As always there is also a huge amount of choice from the craft and gift stall holders with many traditional and modern handmade stalls, with regulars such as ‘Ma’s Ba’s’ soaps and candles, ‘Olive and Rose’ beauty range, ‘Knitted by Lulu’, ‘E V K Kreations’ Sock Monkeys, ‘Wooden Hearts Woodcraft’ and ‘Twisted Designs Jewellery’ along with many new stalls.

Local handmade food favourites will also be there for you to stock up on your favourite treats such as ‘Spread the Love’ with delicious jams and chutneys, ‘Little Saddleworth Pie Company’ with a range of tasty pies and ‘Sugar Violets’ with her wonderfully decadent handmade chocolates.

Not forgetting the photographers, artists and authors involved including, ‘David Parker from Altered Images’, ‘Robb Studd’, ‘Deborah Jackson’ and ‘Christine McLean.

Most of the stalls are providing either a demonstration of their craft or will have part of their stall designated for people to try it out for themselves. So if you have always fancied having a go at water colours, crocheting, card making, making bath salts, a peg dolly or a bracelet, then now is the perfect time to try.

So come along and enjoy the atmosphere and get making and doing at the ‘Be Creative’ Bank Holiday Bonanza.

Free admission.
