Overview: Not content with being the tallest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis provides some of the finest mountaineering and rock climbing routes in the British Isles. Package includes: Climbing Ben Nevis on Saturday and a low-level walk on Sunday, a qualified guide, two nights accommodation, full cooked breakfast, packed lunches, evening meals with wine, and a great time at no extra charge :) Ben Nevis, or the 'Ben' as it is fondly known locally, sits majestically at the head of Loch Linnhe, its presence dominating the landscape from all corners of Fort William and some parts of Lochaber. Those who have seen the popular films of Braveheart, Rob Roy and Highlander will be familiar with Glen Nevis; scenes from each of these films were shot right here. We couldn't partake in such a mountainous (excuse the pun) challenge, in such a fantastic setting, without providing equally impressive accommodation. Itinerary: Friday: Arrival with home cooking and ‘meet and greet’ the group with a few social drinks at a local pub. Saturday Enjoy a full breakfast before heading to the famous Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain at 4418 feet (1344m) set in the stunning surroundings of Glen Nevis. After what promises to be a breathtaking climb it is a short trip back to the lodge for your evening meal and a few social drinks! Sunday After a lazy start reading the papers and having had a full breakfast we will set off straight from the lodge for a circular walk around the local area, taking in the spectacular sights. Ben Nevis will be the last of the three peaks we will be climbing over the year and will serve as good preparation for those wanting to undertake The Three Peaks Challenge on 18th – 19th July. To recognise your accomplishment, you shall also receive a commemorative certificate celebrating that you have climbed one of The Three Peaks. Please note: You don't have to be planning on taking The Three Peaks Challenge in order to take part in this event. "I absolutely loved the activity weekend.
