New Year Countryside Walk with Cake

Duration: 3.5 hours walking plus stop for lunch break

It's a relatively steady walk, a good one to blow the cob webs away and not too strenuous, your Mum could do it..
This is a varied walk which takes you from the valley of Hayfield and over moorland past the ancient monument Edale Cross. Then along the Pennine Way towards Kinder Low Trig Point, over boggy ground (can be very muddy here) towards Kinder Downfall and along the plateau for some spectacular viewpoints, then descending back down and around the side of Hayfield Reservoir.
We will be going to the famous The Sportsman pub for our traditional Sunday Roast m m m.
Kit List: Hiking boots (no trekking shoes or trainers), walking trousers (no jeans, or tracksuit bottoms), Gaiters advisable but not essential, waterproofs essential, fleece, hat, gloves, water, hot drink in flask optional, packed lunch and a head torch if you have one, but not essential.
