Friday
Welcome get together with dinner around 8pm.We'll have a bite to eat and then go for a drink at the local pub to sample the local ale.
Saturday
We offer two choices of walk to suit all abilities (depending on the weather conditions), whether it be a low level or a more challenging walk they are both planned for you to enjoy the best of what Snowdonia National Park has to offer.
Walk 1 (6.5 miles, 4.5h, difficulty 3)
A solitary mountain, Moel Siabod (872m/2,861ft) stands separately from all the other higher peaks of northern Snowdonia and because of that it is still slightly underestimated. However, it offers great views of the Snowdon Horseshoe and it is reputedly possible to see 13 out of 14 highest peaks of Wales from there on a clear day without turning one's head. Our walk will start at Plas-y-Brenin, just a few hundred yards from the accomodation, and take us through some beautiful woodland, an abandoned slate quarry. There will be an option (you can opt out if you'd rather not do it) of some fun easy scrambling too!
Walk 2 (8 miles, 4h, difficulty 2)
A beautiful low level walk, crossing some magnificent scenery including woodland, beautiful valleys and lakes and offering views of the gorgeous Moel Siabod, this is a perfect winter strol before the mulled wine, log fire and music back at the accommodation. And it ends in a pub!
Sunday
After a lazy start reading the papers over the home cooked breakfast we will set off a few miles up the road to the Ogwen Valley for four mile circular walk around lake Idwal, taking in the spectacular sights of the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges.
Please note the planned walks are dependent on local conditions and the itinerary may change due to weather conditions on the weekend. Rest assured though that we will still find walks to suit the conditions and provide you with a fun packed social weekend.
Book a place and recharge your batteries during a relaxing and revitalising short break. Just 30 minutes a day of walking will improve your health and wellbeing. By becoming more active you will have a great sense of achievement, more energy, sleep better and reduce your stress levels.
I enjoy organised walks as part of group but either my mates are just not into it or the ones that are can’t commit to any dates, so having Social Circle organise it all means I can just do it and have some fun in the process meeting some new people. Louise Timperly
Weekends away are great social occasions and are always more fun as part of a group. It's a great way to meet new people so don't worry if you are coming on your own. We will be car sharing up and down so lifts won't be a problem if needed.
