CIT's writers’ conference returns, (delivered in partnership with Manchester Literature Festival and The Writers & Artists Yearbook), bringing a mix of masterclass talks, workshops and panel discussions.

This year’s speakers will include leading writers from the fields of literary fiction and genre writing, so whether you’re crafting romance, crime, science fiction or children’s and young adult fiction, this event will have something for you.

Featured authors:

Sarah Dunant - keynote speaker, winner of Walter Scott Historical Fiction Prize 2010, Silver Dagger Award 1993 (The Birth of Venus, Blood & Beauty, Snowstorms in a Hot Climate)

Alex Wheatle MBE - winner of the 2016 Guardian Children's Fiction Prize (Crongton Knights)

Cath Staincliffe - CWO Short Story Dagger winner (Letters To My Daughter's Killer, writer/creator of ITV's Blue Murder)

Liz Williams - Philip K Dick Award nominee (The Ghost Sister, Inspector Chen series)

The publishing industry is represented by:

Piers Blofeld - literary agent, Shiel Land Associates

John Jarrold - science fiction & fantasy literary agent

The event runs from 10.30am - 5pm and a full schedule, plus speakers' biographies, will be announced shortly.

The price to attend the event includes the ticket price plus, where applicable, booking fee and Venue Restoration Levy. Additional per transaction charges, ranging from £2.50 to £12.50 for handling apply.
